Remove/install windshield - AR67.10-P-1000SX

Model 216.3 

Model 221 except code Z07 (Top protection)

REMOVING Remove     
1 1KPrepare - component adhesive cartridge   AR67.10-P-1000-12SX
Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01 *BR00.45-Z-1089-02A 
SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Figure
2 Unclip left and right drip rail and remove SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 3
3 Remove wiper arms   AR82.30-P-6100SX
4 Remove air-water duct    
5 Disconnect connector on wiper park position heater (X64/3) and fix in place on windshield (1) using duct tape    
6 Remove inside rearview mirror   AR68.40-P-0001SX
IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical lines.
7 Remove rain/light sensor   AR82.30-P-7800SX
8 Remove infrared camera Model 216.3
with code 610 (Night view assist)
Model 221
with code 610 (Night view assist) except code Z07 (Top protection)

9 Cover vehicle interior in repair area    
DANGER Risk of injury  from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS67.00-Z-0004-01A
10 Cut out windshield (1) with window removal tool AR67.10-P-1000-11SX
11 Remove windshield (1) from body with cup suction tools IMPORTANT Helper required.  
INSTALLING Install     
12 Open driver-side window NOTES Open side window in driver door until adhesive has cured (idle time).
This prevents the windshield (1) from being pressed outwards by the sudden air pressure when the doors are closed.
 
13 Prepare body flange for installation of window   AR67.10-P-1501-01SX
NOTES General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area   AH98.00-P-9408-06A
NOTES Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.  
Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01 *BR00.45-Z-1089-02A 
Primer stick *BR00.45-Z-1012-07A 
14 Align windshield (1) in body opening   AR67.10-P-1000-04SX
IMPORTANT Helper required.  
Distance between top edge of windshield and front edge of roof *BE67.10-P-1001-01F

15 Prepare windshield (1) for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03SX
NOTES Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
IMPORTANT Replace rubber window spacers.
 
Glazing repair kit, 1-component adhesive, replaced by: A 221 670 81 01 *BR00.45-Z-1089-02A 
16 Apply adhesive material   AR67.10-P-1000-08SX
NOTES Wear cotton gloves. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface. The bonding surface should be free of dust, oil, grease, wax and other adhesive components or dirt residues. Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.
NOTES Install windshield (1) within 5 min. after applying adhesive.

17 Install windshield (1)   AR67.10-P-1503-01SX
NOTES Move vehicle only after adhesive has dried. Observe the drying time specified by the adhesive manufacturer.
To ensure sufficient strength of the adhesive.
IMPORTANT The hood must be closed.
CLEANING Clean     
18 Remove duct tape and cover material from vehicle    
19 Clean area to be repaired    
20 Install infrared camera Model 216.3
with code 610 (Night view assist)
Model 221

21 Install rain/light sensor   AR82.30-P-7800SX
22 Install inside rearview mirror   AR68.40-P-0001SX
23 Connect wiper park position heater connector (X64/3)    
24 Install air/water duct    
25 Install wiper arms   AR82.30-P-6100SX
26 Replace clips on left and right drip rail When reusing left and right drip rail.  
27 Install left and right drip rail
