3	Remove front wheels
	Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary		AP40.10-P-4050RT
4	Unscrew collar nut (1) on the front axle shaft		*BA33.30-P-1001-02E
5	Unscrew nut (8) and detach tie rod from steering knuckle (10)		*BA46.40-P-1002-01L

6	Unscrew nut (9) and detach steering knuckle (10) from upper transverse control arm	Secure steering knuckle (10) with cable tie.

7	Use extraction and insertion tool (7) to loosen front axle shaft flange	Extraction and insertion tool	Figure
8	Unscrew nut (11) and detach front shock absorber from transverse control arm (12)	Support transverse control arm (12) using transmission jack Final tightening if vehicle on measuring platform or in K0 position, in order to avoid placing the rubber mount under stress.

9	Remove electrical lines from brackets (2, 3)	Do not damage electrical lines.
10	Unclip brake hose (5) from bracket (6)	Do not damage the brake hose (5).
11	Remove cable tie (4) from steering knuckle (10)	Observe installation position. Replace cable ties (4).

12	Pull front axle shaft (13) out of front axle gear (arrow)	Swivel steering knuckle (10) out of the working area Collect any oil which runs out.
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Fill AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS	Only vehicles with AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS), code 489. The wheels must not make any contact with the ground when filling as when filling in the jounce condition the air spring bellows in the spring element will be destroyed.
