Remove/install hydraulic valve clearance compensating elements - AR05.00-P-2011GZB

	Remove/install
	Risk of injury caused by fingers being pinched or crushed when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof.	Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1	Remove strut tower brace	Model 164.8 only Remove spring dome strut at spring dome mounts.	AR62.30-P-2500GY
2	Remove engine trim panel
3	Remove camshafts		AR05.20-P-6992OM
4	Remove compensating element (1)	Do not use a magnet. This would magnetize the contact surfaces of the compensating element (1) and the roller drag lever. This can cause minute iron chips to accumulate, which in turn can damage the compensation element (1) and the cam. Installation: Reinstall the compensation elements (1) that are not replaced at the same position.
5	Remove roller drag lever (3)
6	Slacken compensating element (1) from roller drag lever (3)	Pry off clamp (2) by hand.
7	Install in the reverse order
