	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1	Release parking brake
2	Lift/jack up vehicle		AR00.60-P-1000GZ
3	Remove rear wheels.
	Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary		AP40.10-P-4050Z
4	Remove left brake disk or right brake disk from rear axle		AR42.10-P-0220GZ
5	Unhook retracting spring (3) using removal and installation tool	Removal and installation tool	Fig 3
6	Remove expanding lock (1)	To do so, open the expanding lock (1) and push out of the rear brake cable (4). Installation:  Grease slide surfaces on expanding lock (1) lightly with MB long-life grease.

7	Unclip rear brake cable (4) from wheel carrier (arrows)
8	Unclip clip (6) from connecting piece (7)
9	Unclip rear brake cable (4) from connecting piece (7)
10	Unclip guide (8)	To unclip, squeeze the lock tabs on the guide (8) together.
11	Squeeze retaining ring (9) together and unclip from bracket together with cable sheathing (5)
12	Open plastic holder (10) and remove rear brake cable (4) together with cable sheathing (5)	Installation:  The distance from the plastic holder (10) to the outer tie rod end must be 76 mm and the cable sheathing (5) must not rub against the plastic holder (10) when the brake is in its released state, otherwise the plastic holder (10) could open by itself when the brake is applied or released.
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Adjust parking brake		AR42.20-P-0540GZ
