	Checking
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid	Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
	Before opening the hydraulic circuit of the power steering, thoroughly clean the surrounding area of the separation point. Even the smallest dirt particles introduced into the hydraulic components can lead to malfunctions and damage to the power steering
1	Switch off ignition
2	Remove strut tower brace	Model 164.8 with engine 642
	Remove/install strut tower brace		AR62.30-P-2500GY
3	Remove engine trim panel	ENGINES 156, 629, 642
	Remove/install engine cover	Engine 629: Front section only.	AR01.10-P-2405GZD
4	Remove cap (1) of power steering expansion reservoir (2)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn counterclockwise through 90°.
	Clean
5	Wipe oil dipstick (3) with lint-free rag and seal expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)	Press the cap (1) downwards and turn clockwise through 90°.
6	Remove cap (1) again and read off oil level on oil dipstick (3), correct the oil level if necessary	At an oil temperature of approx. 20°C the oil level must lie between the min. (B) and max. (A) markings. In order to avoid measurement errors, hold oil dipstick (3) upright. If the fluid level is too low, determine cause and remedy against a separate order.

7	Seal expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1)
8	Reinstall engine cover	Engines 156, 629, 642
	Remove/install engine cover	Engine 629 Engine 642: Ignition switched off.	AR01.10-P-2405GZD
9	Install strut tower brace	Model 164.8 with engine 642
	Remove/install strut tower brace		AR62.30-P-2500GY
