	Remove/install
	Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

4	Remove clock spring contact		AR46.10-P-0200GS
5	Unscrew screws (1)
6	Remove CC with variable speed limiter switch (S40/4) with VCS switch (S93/2) from jacket tube paneling (2)
7	Detach electrical coupling (3) from housing of combination switch (S4)	Unlock in direction of arrow and pull out towards steering wheel.
8	Remove combination switch (S4) from jacket tube paneling (2)
9	Disconnect combination switch plug connector (S4x1)
10	Install in the reverse order
11.1	Deactivate service mode in TELE AID emergency call system	Models 463.243/244/245/247/248/250/254/309/322/323/332/333 with code ET2: Tele-Aid - car phone emergency call system	AR82.95-P-0005-03GR
12	Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase	STAR DIAGNOSIS Stored faults which may be caused by disconnecting cables or by simulation during removal and installation or test operations, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A

13	Perform basic programming		AR00.19-P-0200P
	Inspect
14	Perform function check	Check all functions of the multifunction steering wheel and switches on the jacket tube.
15	Conduct a road test	Check the turn signal reset during a test drive: When the steering wheel is offset by more than one tooth satisfactory turn signal reset is no longer guaranteed. Airbag indicator lamp: The SRS indicator lamp must not light up on full steering angle in both directions. Steering wheel position: When the steering wheel is fitted at an angle, offset it by a maximum of one tooth, in the event of a larger deviation: ↓
