Destination guidance, function
Destination guidance includes making up and outputting driving recommendations to guide the driver to the desired destination. The prerequisites of destination guidance include:
- Continuous position finding is in operation.
- The trip destination has been entered.
- Route has been calculated.
The navigation processor (N41/1) continuously compares the route calculation data with the position finding data and derives from this the measures for continued navigation.
Depending on the position of the vehicle, a distinction can be made between the following two destination guidance system modes:
- Destination guidance within the digitized CD-ROM map area
- Restricted destination guidance outside the digitized CD-ROM map area
The navigation processor for the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio, is integrated into the operating unit. With the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), with code (527) COMAND APS (with navigation), the external navigation module is referred to as a navigation processor (N41/1).
