	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Disconnect ground line from battery	When removing right exhaust manifold (1)
		Model 211.0	AR54.10-P-0003T
		Model 211.2	AR54.10-P-0003TA
		Model 219	AR54.10-P-0003TX
2	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150TS
3	Remove ignition coils	Engine 272.985	AR15.12-P-2003TS
4	Unscrew the accessible nuts while the vehicle is lowered (8, 9)		*BA14.10-P-1001-01E
5	Remove bottom engine compartment paneling	Installation:  Only install the lower engine compartment paneling after the leak test.

6.1	Remove left or right catalytic converter	When removing the right or left exhaust manifold (1 or 2).
		Model 211	AR49.10-P-5500TT
		Model 219, right catalytic converter	AR49.10-P-5500TY
		Model 219, left catalytic converter	AR49.10-P-5500TX
6.2	Remove complete exhaust system	When removing the right and left exhaust manifold (1, 2).
		Model 211	AR49.10-P-7000TS
		Model 219	AR49.10-P-7000TX
7.1	Dismount heat shield at front axle transmission connecting member	Vehicles with 4MATIC, when removing right exhaust manifold (1)
7.2	Dismount heat shield at steering housing	Vehicles with 4MATIC, when removing left exhaust manifold (2)
8	Unscrew the accessible nuts while the vehicle is raised (8, 9)		*BA14.10-P-1001-01E
9	Remove the exhaust manifold (1, 2) and exhaust manifold gasket (10, 11) from below
	Clean
10	Clean sealing surfaces on cylinder head and exhaust manifold (1, 2)
11	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Conduct engine test run and check exhaust system for leaks
