	Removing
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge		AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1	Remove seat-back lining from left or right front seat backrest	On vehicles with code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory or with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) or on vehicles as of 1.6.05.	AR91.10-P-1910TX
2	Move front seat forward and set front seat backrest at an incline to the rear
3	Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit	On vehicles as of 1.6.05. On vehicles with code (889) Keyless-Go, press the Keyless-Go start and stop button repeatedly until the ignition is switched off. Remove the transmitter key from the vehicle and store it at a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
4	Detach driver NECK-PRO head restraint separation point or front passenger NECK-PRO head restraint separation point and expose relevant electrical line	On vehicles as of 1.6.05. Note installation position of electrical line and securing clamp.
5	Pull head restraint (1) out of the front seat backrest	On vehicles without code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory or without code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors), the release on the head restraint guide has to be pressed.

6	Install head restraint (1)
7	Check for correct locking of head restraints (1) in head restraint up/down motor (M27m4) or head restraint up/down motor (M28m4) (arrows)	On vehicles with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) or with code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory
8	Connect driver NECK-PRO head restraint separation point or front passenger NECK-PRO head restraint separation point and position relevant electrical line in front seat backrest	On vehicles as of 1.6.05. Note installation position of electrical line and securing clamp.
9	Install seat-back lining on front seat backrest	On vehicles with code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory or with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) or on vehicles as of 1.6.05.	AR91.10-P-1910TX
