Remove/install front bumper - AR88.20-P-2000TX

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000TX 
2 Remove front section of fender liner from left front fender (6) and right front fender (18)   AR88.10-P-1310TX 
3 Unscrew bolts (4) from radiator grille (3) IMPORTANT Radiator grille (3) remains on front bumper (2).  
4 Slightly pivot radiator grille (3) toward front, reach behind radiator grille (3) and unscrew bolts (5) from front crossmember    
5 Unclip outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14) from front bumper (2)    
6.1 Disconnect front PTS separation point (X26/27) Only with code (220) Parktronic system (PTS)  
7 Disconnect electrical connector (1) from left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2)    
8 Unscrew bolt (7) from left and right terminal strip (8)    
9 Pivot left and right terminal strip (8) into guide pins (9) and press toward front into catch point (arrow) IMPORTANT Left and right terminal strip (8) remains on front bumper (2).  
10 Lift left front fender (6) and right front fender (18) out of retaining clip (12) with assembly wedge (10) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that clip (13) is seated correctly on left and right retaining clip (12).

11 Remove bolt (14)    
12 Remove front bumper (2) toward front with aid of helper NOTES Carefully remove front bumper (2) with aid of helper, otherwise adhesive foils (11, 16) and paint can be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Install front bumper (2) at side into mounts (17, 19) and lugs for front bumper (2) into housing (15) of left front lamp unit (E1) and housing (15) of right front lamp unit (E2).
 
13.1 Disassemble front bumper (2) and assemble Only when replacing front bumper (2). AR88.20-P-2050TX 
14 Install in the reverse order    
15 Check gaps on front bumper (2), adjust if necessary IMPORTANT See: ↓  
Gap dimensions on hoods, doors and lids AR60.00-P-0700-01Y
Gap dimension between engine hood and bumper "Dimension C". *BE60.00-P-1001-01O 
SPECIAL TOOL Figure
16.1 Check Parktronic system (PTS) for proper function Only with code (220) Parktronic system (PTS)
IMPORTANT Switch off ignition, PTS control unit performs self-test automatically
 
17 Check adjustment for left front fog lamp (E5/1) and right front fog lamp (E5/2), correct if necessary    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check and correct the adjustment of the headlamps   AP82.10-P-8260TX
18 Close engine hood
