	Removing
	Notes on using tester for tire pressure monitoring systems	Tester MB 2000E	AH40.15-P-0001-01A
1	Remove valve cap (1)	Only use valve caps (1) made of plastic otherwise corrosion damage will occur
2	Detach tires	Vehicles without top protection	AR40.10-P-1030SX
		Vehicles with code Z07 Top protection	AR40.10-P-1030MB
3	Unscrew union nut (2) with friction disk (2a) from valve body (3) and remove
4	Remove TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) with valve body (3)
5	Unscrew valve body (3) from TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5)	When reusing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) If necessary insert assembly tool for tire pressure monitor or pin (2 mm dia.) for counterholding in bore (3b).
	Clean
6	Clean TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5)	When reusing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) Only remove dirt with a clean, lint-free cloth. Do not use compressed air, solvents or cleaners. The TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) can also be reused after using TIREFIT tire sealant.
7	Clean the disk wheel in the area of the valve bore
	Checking
8	Carry out visual inspection of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5)	Replace the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) if the Damage is recognizable. It is more than 7 years old according to the date of manufacture (H). The first two digits of the date of manufacture (H) specify the year of manufacture.
9	Check disk wheel for damage in the area of the valve bore
	Install
10	Detach the label (4) with the identification number (i) of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) and affix to the maintenance booklet	When replacing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) The identification number (i) is also noted on the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5).
11.1	Replace bolt (3a), valve body (3) and union nut (2) with friction disk (2a)	When reusing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) Insert square of bolt (3a) in the guide on the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) and screw on valve body (3) approx. 3 revolutions.
11.2	Fold valve body (3) downwards out of the horizontal position (arrow)	When replacing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) Valve body (3) of new TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) neither loosen nor tighten Observe transmission frequency (F) of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5): Vehicles with code 494 USA version: 315 MHz Vehicles without USA version: 433 Mhz
12	Insert TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) with valve body (3) into the valve bore of the disk wheel
13	Tighten union nut (2) with friction disk (2a)	The union nut (2) must not  be reused. Do not counterhold valve body (3) when tightening the union nut (2) under any circumstances  otherwise the valve body (3) will not be screwed on correctly and the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) will be damaged when driving. The effect of a broken washer (2) is that first the valve body (3) is screwed onto the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5). After perceptible fracture of the breakage washer the valve body (3) is then screwed on to the disk wheel. When tightening the union nut (2) press the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) slightly into the drop center and towards the valve bore of the disk wheel.	*BA40.15-P-1001-01D

	To activate the tire pressure monitor, carry out operation step 15 or  16 as an alternative.
15	Code the identification number (i) of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) and specified tire pressure in the TPM control unit using STAR DIAGNOSIS	When replacing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) Process all steps under: "Control units" - "Chassis" - "TPM tire pressure monitor" - "Initial startup" - "Initial startup with manual settings input for new control unit".
16	Activate the tire pressure monitoring system	When replacing the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5)	AR54.30-P-1000-02RAS
