	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Move DIRECT SELECT gear selector switch to "N" position
2	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100SX
3	Remove bottom engine compartment paneling		AR61.20-P-1105SX
4.1	Remove diesel particulate filter (3)	Vehicles with diesel engine	AR14.40-P-1000SXI
4.2	Remove right-hand catalytic converter and undo left-hand catalytic converter on the exhaust manifold	Vehicles with gasoline engine	AR49.10-P-7100SX
5	Remove cable retainer (4) from engine and transmission	Vehicles with diesel engine
6	Remove heat shield (6)		*BA33.30-P-1009-03G
7	Detach holders (5, 7) of the diesel particulate filter (3) on transmission	Vehicles with diesel engine

8	Remove bracket (2) of lower engine compartment paneling on underbody of vehicle
9	Remove propeller shaft at transmission	If the fitting sleeves are jammed: ↓	AR41.10-P-0050-02SX
		Release the guide sleeves on	AR41.10-P-0050-09SX
	Drift for loosening fitting sleeves in flex disks.		WF58.50-P-4110-01A
		Installation:  Attach the propeller shaft.	AR41.10-P-0050-07SX

11	Lower transmission
12	Mark position of propeller shaft (20) relative to flange of front axle transmission (10)	In order when installing to be able to reproduce the installation position used by the plant.
13	Detach propeller shaft (20) from front axle transmission (10)	Do not counterhold propeller shaft (20) on the universal joint, as otherwise the needle roller bearings and seals of the propeller shaft (20) may be damaged. To undo the bolts of the propeller shaft (20) on the front axle gear (10) the front wheels must be counterheld by an assistant. Installation:  Install new bolts.

14	Undo bolt (8) on front axle gear (10)	To enable the propeller shaft (20) to be moved over the front axle gear (10) during the removing and installing process.

15	Detach propeller shaft (20) along engine from splined profile (11) on transfer case (12)	Installation:  Line up marking (arrow in right enlarged detail in 2nd picture) on the propeller shaft (20) and closed groove (arrow in left enlarged detail in 2nd picture) on the splined profile (11).
16	Remove propeller shaft (20) downwards
	Checking
17	Check rubber boot (13) of propeller shaft (20)	If necessary, replace rubber boot (13).
18	Check constant velocity joint and double cardan U-joint of propeller shaft (20) for signs of wear and damage	If necessary, replace propeller shaft (20).
19	Install in the reverse order
