The electric seats function description comprises the following partial functions which are described in separate documents:

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA) (without code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror) 

The electrical seat adjustment permits the electric adjustment of seat height and backrest angle of driver and front passenger seats. In vehicles with code (494) USA version, the seat fore/aft position and seat inclination can also be adjusted.

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA) (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror) or code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory) 

The electrical seat adjustment permits the electric adjustment of seat fore/aft position, backrest angle, seat height, seat inclination and head restraint height of driver and front passenger seats.

Multicontour seat (MKS) function (with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seats) 

The multicontour seat can be adjusted individually.

The individual adjustment of the contour and the surface hardness of the backrest and of the seat cushion is made possible by filling and purging.

Lumbar support adjusting facility, function 

(Model 204.0/2 as of 1.6.09 with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror) or code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory, model 204.3/9 with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirror) or code (242) Electrically adjustable front passenger seat with memory) 

In order to provide optimum support for the vertebral column, the backrests on the driver and front passenger seats each contain a lumbar support unit. The adjustment is made via the driver seat lumbar support adjustment switch (S109/2) or the front passenger seat lumbar support adjustment switch (S109/3).

Electrically adjustable steering column (ESC), function (with code (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors)) 

The adjust/store steering column function allows the steering column to be adjusted to various different positions and these positions to be stored.

The easy entry/exit function makes it possible for the driver to get in and out of the vehicle easily. In the process the steering column is moved upwards before getting in or out.
