	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts		AH00.00-N-0001-01A
	Notes on AIRmatic		AH32.22-P-1000-02SX
1	Place front wheels in straight-ahead position
2	Release pressure in suspension strut (40) completely using STAR DIAGNOSIS
3	Detach pressure line (40a) from suspension strut (40).	Installation:  When reinstalling the old suspension strut (40) ensure that the pressure line (40a) is screwed carefully onto the plastic thread as in the case of improper screwing on the plastic thread is damaged and thus the suspension strut (40) will be destroyed. Installation:  If a new air suspension strut (40) is installed, detach the screw connection on the pressure line (40a). To do this, break open clamping ring, pull off pressure line connection and insert pressure line (40a) up to the marking in the new pressure line connection of the new air suspension strut (40). Pull back pressure line (40a) slightly, so that the continuous circumferential retaining edges inside the clamping ring engage in the outer surface of the line. Seal pressure line (40a) with blind plugs during repair work Installation:  Damaged pressure line connections or damaged pressure lines (40a) must be repaired before assembly: ↓ Recondition AIRmatic pressure line connection. 4	Loosen nuts (40b) on front end		*BA32.25-P-1001-04L
5	Remove front wheel
	Remove/install wheels		AP40.10-P-4050SX
6	Disconnect electrical line (1) of front axle damping valve unit from front axle electrical distributor connector		AR33.10-P-0100-06SX
7	Unclip brake hose (2) and electrical line (1) from line bracket (3)
8	Detach suspension strut (40) from spring control arm (4)		AR33.15-P-0170SXS
9	Support front-axle half using transmission lifter and transmission platform
10	Detach upper transverse control arm (5) from steering knuckle (6)	If the emergency buffer is inserted, the upper ball joint in the upper transverse control arm (5) will be damaged by the increased weight. The upper transverse control arm (5) must  be replaced: ↓	AR33.20-P-0500-01SX
		Remove/install upper transverse control arm	AR33.20-P-0500SXS

11	Unscrew nuts (40b) and lower suspension strut (40) to remove	Installation:  Loosely screw on nuts (40b). Do not tighten to the specified tightening torque until the suspension strut (40) has been filled.
	Checking
12	Check suspension strut (40)	If necessary: ↓	AR32.25-P-1017-02SX
		Dispose of suspension strut.	OS32.25-P-0122-01SX
13	Install in the reverse order
14	Check AIRmatic for leaks.		AR32.22-P-8100SX
