Puller 221 589 00 33 00, thrust piece 129 589 10 63 00 and press 163 589 03 43 00 required for vehicles with code (Z07) Top protection.

Puller 140 589 00 33 00 and thrust piece 210 589 04 63 00 are required for vehicles without top protection.

Pushing off

Unscrew self-locking nut from follower joint (8).
Screw the thrust washer (043a) onto the support joint (8).
Press off the follower joint (8) with the puller (043).
Do not damage rubber boot and stainless steel ring, as otherwise the upper transverse control arm has to be replaced.

Shown on vehicle without top protection
Remove puller (043) and thrust piece (043a).
Mount
Clean tapered connection.
There must be no grease or oil on the taper and thread in order to guarantee a faultless connection.
Replace self-locking nut and tighten.
