	Checking
1	Check bellows (11)	Never check bellows by pressing in or around raised bead as this will damage bellows and eventually cause leaks. Perfect sealing of the bellows is absolutely vital for correct functioning of the rack-and-pinion steering, so perform the visual inspection as follows: Raise vehicle at front axle. Stretch the boot by turning the steering onto left or right lock and in the process check for damage (cracks, chafe marks and intrusions), replace boot if necessary.
	Remove/install
2	Remove track rod (10)		AR46.40-P-0200SX
3	Unscrew lock nut (10f)
4	Detach outer clamp (11b).
5	Detach inner clamp (11a).		AR46.40-P-0400-01SX
6	Pull off bellows (11)
	Checking
7	Inspect steering rack and axial joint of inner track rod (12) for signs of corrosion and play	If the toothed rack is already corroded and the rack-and-pinion steering is leaking as a result, the complete rack-and-pinion steering must be replaced: ↓
		Replace rack-and-pinion steering. If the ball joint is worn, replace the inside track rod: ↓	AR46.20-P-0600SX
		Install new inner tie rod with axial joint.	AR46.40-P-0201SX
8	Install in the reverse order
9	Perform a wheel alignment check		AR40.20-P-0200SX
