Remove/install level control valve unit - AR32.31-P-0650RT

MODIFICATION NOTES

18.8.08 Remove front bumper, unscrew bolts, added Operation steps 1 and 5 AR88.20-P-2000RT
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
IMPORTANT Notes on AIRmatic   AH32.22-P-1000-02RT
1 Remove front bumper   AR88.20-P-2000RT
2 Empty air suspension system using STAR DIAGNOSIS    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
3 Disconnect electrical connector (2)    
4 Unscrew pressure line connection (1) NOTES Observe color coding on the pressure lines and the pressure line assignment at the valve unit (Y36 or Y36/8) in order to guarantee faultless function of the suspension.
IMPORTANT Seal off pressure lines with blind plugs for the duration of the repair work.

5 Remove bolts (4) NOTES Secure valve unit (Y36 or Y36/8) against falling down.  
6 Remove bolts (3) and detach valve unit (Y36 or Y36/8) IMPORTANT Use a suitable tool.  
7 Remove valve unit (Y36 or Y36/8)    
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Fill air suspension system using STAR DIAGNOSIS NOTES The wheels must not make contact with the floor when filling as the air spring bellows in the suspension strut will be irreparably damaged if the system is filled with the suspension compressed.  
INSPECT Checking     
10 Check air suspension system for leaktightness Refer to: ↓  
Check AIRmatic for leaks AR32.22-P-8100RT
