	Remove/install
	Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.	Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.	AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

1	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
2	Open engine hood and raise to vertical position		AR88.40-P-1000RT
3	Detach inlet air pipe (1)
4	Remove electronic stability program control unit (ESP)	Do not disconnect electrically Place the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit out of the working area.	AR42.45-P-0820RT
5	Electronic Stability Program (ESP) hydraulic unit in the area of the line connections	Clean the area around the separation point thoroughly before opening the brake system. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system
6	Unscrew the union nut for the pressure circuit brake line (2) and union nut for the secondary brake circuit brake line (3) and union nuts for the brake lines (4) of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) hydraulic unit	Before detaching identify the brake lines to the corresponding line connection, in the process observe the markings on the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) hydraulic unit. Trace line routing to the corresponding wheel. Collect any brake fluid which runs out in a fluff-free, absorbent cloth. Seal brake lines and line connections on the ESP hydraulic unit immediately with plugs, in order to prevent the ingress of foreign bodies. Do not mix up brake lines, observe markings.

7	Loosen screws (5).	Flush off brake fluid which runs out in the area of the longitudinal frame member with water in order to avoid paint damage.

8	Remove Electronic Stability Program (ESP) hydraulic unit upwards
9	Install in the reverse order
10	Bleed brake system		AR42.10-P-0010RT
	Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
