REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury caused by brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes. Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A
NOTES Brake fluid notes All models AH42.50-P-0001-01A
NOTES Notes on externally invisible brake fluid loss   AH42.10-P-9406-02RT
NOTES Notes on repairs to brake system All models AH42.00-P-0003-01A
1 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position   AR88.40-P-1000RT
2 Unscrew union nut of pressure circuit brake line (4) and unscrew union nut of secondary brake circuit brake line (5) IMPORTANTRisk of confusion!  Before unscrewing, mark the brake line in relation to the appropriate connection.
NOTES Seal connections with stop plugs in order to prevent brake fluid running out.
 
NOTES Collect any brake fluid which runs out in a fluff-free, absorbent cloth. Seal brake lines and line connections on the ESP hydraulic unit (3) immediately with plugs, in order to prevent the ingress of foreign bodies. *BA42.10-P-1003-14A

3 Remove the partition wall between the wheelhouses   AR62.30-P-2400RT
4 Remove screws (6)    
5 Remove bracket (7)    
6 Remove injection system control unit IMPORTANT Only with engine 156, 642.  
7 Unscrew nuts (8) IMPORTANT Only on engine 113 and engine 642.  
8 Unclip electrical connector (9) IMPORTANT Only on engine 113, 156 and engine 642.
IMPORTANT On engine 642 two electrical connectors are attached to the bracket (7) which both have to be unclipped.
IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrically
 
9 Place bracket (10) upwards out of the working area IMPORTANT Only on engine 113, 156 and engine 642.  
10 Unscrew union nut of pressure circuit brake line (11) and union nut of secondary brake circuit brake line (12) Risk of confusion!  Before unscrewing, mark the brake line in relation to the appropriate connection.
NOTES Seal connections with stop plugs in order to prevent brake fluid running out.

11 Unclip brake line of pressure circuit (1) and brake line of secondary brake circuit (2) from clips (13)    
12 Remove pressure circuit brake line (1) and secondary brake circuit brake line (2)    
13 Install in the reverse order    
14 Bleed brake system   AR42.10-P-0010RT
