	Remove/install
	Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge	All models	AH54.00-P-0001-01A
1.1	Read out data from headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71) with STAR DIAGNOSIS system	Only if headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71) is replaced.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
2	Remove right front floor covering		AR68.20-P-2070RT
3	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
4	Remove damping (1)
5	Unscrew nuts (3, 5) and remote right intermediate bottom (2)	Observe different collar diameter for nuts (3, 5). Position clips (4) as shown.
6	Unscrew nuts (6) and remove additional battery (G1/7) together with bracket as one unit from threaded bolt and lay down to side.	Protect electrical connectors of additional battery against contact with body or other components to prevent short circuit or damage!
7	Unscrew nut (7)
8	Disconnect electrical connector (8) from headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71)	Do not damage electrical connector.
9	Carefully lift bracket (9) off of threaded bolt and turn	Do not damage electrical lines of other control modules additionally installed on bracket (9) (depending on version)!
10	Unscrew nuts (10) and remove headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71)	Observe collar diameter of nuts (10).
11	Install in the reverse order
12.1	Transfer data previously read out into headlamp range adjustment control unit (N71) with STAR DIAGNOSIS system	Only if headlamp range adjustment contro unit is replaced.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
		STAR DIAGNOSIS system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
