Shown on right side of vehicle without Airmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS), code 489 

	Remove/install
	Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
	Only vehicles with Airmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS), code 489, have a level sensor on the left side of the vehicle
1	Switch off ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS [EZS] control unit	On vehicles with Keyless Go, code 889: Press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off. Remove transmitter key from vehicle and store it in a location beyond its transmission range (at least 2 m).
2	Raise vehicle.		AR00.60-P-1000RT
3	Remove front section of fender liner in front fender		AR88.10-P-1310RT
4	Separate electrical connector (1)
5	Disconnect connecting arm (2) from bracket on upper transverse control arm (arrow)
6	Remove bolts (3)		*BA82.10-P-1001-01C
7	Remove left front level sensor (B22/8) or right front level sensor (B22/9)
8	Undo screws (4) and remove bracket (5) from left front level sensor (B22/8) or right front level sensor (B22/9)		*BA82.10-P-1002-01C
9	Install in the reverse order
10.1	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and calibrate vehicle level	Only when replacing left front level sensor (B22/8) or right front level sensor (B22/9).
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
