Remove/install headliner - AR68.30-P-4300GZ

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Remove front overhead control panel.   AR82.20-P-1100GZ
2 Remove sun visors   AR68.60-P-5480GZ 
3 Remove paneling on A-pillar.   AR68.30-P-4050GZA 
4 Remove front grab handles from roof   AR68.30-P-4330GZ 
5 Completely move front seats toward front, position backrests upright and move head supports (front and rear) upward. IMPORTANT As support for headliner (14).  
6 Remove paneling on B-pillar IMPORTANT Remove only top section
IMPORTANTInstallation  : Install mount in bolts and button in locking pawl. It should be possible to adjust and arrest the seat belt height adjustment.

7 Remove rear grab handle from roof   AR68.30-P-4330GZA 
8.1 Remove Parktronic system warning display (PTS) in rear IMPORTANT Only with Parktronic system (PTS), code 220. AR54.65-P-0007GZ
9 Remove rear dome lamp   AR82.20-P-0113GZ
10.1 Remove air vent from air outlet openings (16) IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with rear air conditioner, code 582.

11 Remove side paneling in trunk Model 164.1 AR68.30-P-4800GZ 
    Model 164.8 AR68.30-P-4800RT 
12 Remove panelings from C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4490GZ 
13 Remove panelings from D-pillar   AR68.30-P-4495GZ 
14 Disconnect electrical connectors (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) IMPORTANT The number and location of the connectors (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) can vary depending on the vehicle model and equipment.  
15 Disconnect ground (right wheelhouse in luggage compartment (W7)    
16 Pull back electrical line (6), wiring harness (7) and ribbon cables (8) over check strap. IMPORTANTInstallation  : Guide back electrical line (6), wiring harness (7) and ribbon cables (8) over check strap (9) to ensure proper function of the airbag!  
17 Remove bolts (12)    
18 Unclip clips (13)    
19 Unclip covers (10, 11) IMPORTANT Unclip from rear.  
20.1 Unclip clips (arrows A) IMPORTANT Only with power glass tilting/sliding, code 414.  
21 Loosen Velcro strip mounts between headliner (14) and roof paneling.    
22.1 Unclip plastic clip (17) and remove toward right from air guide pipe. IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with rear air conditioner, code 582.  
23 Remove headliner (4) toward front (arrow B), then downward (arrows C). NOTES Support headliner (14) in rear area with aid of helper. Danger of breaking!
IMPORTANT Only toward front (arrow B) on electric power glass tilting/sliding roof, code 414.
 
24 Remove headliner (14) toward rear from vehicle and lay down on clean subsurface. IMPORTANT With aid of helper.  
25.1 Remove speaker covers (15) from headliner (14), cut out openings for speaker covers (15). IMPORTANT Only on vehicles with sound system, code 810, and if headliner (14) is to be replaced.
IMPORTANT The headliner (14) is only available without openings for the speaker covers (15).On vehicles with sound system, code 810 it is necessary to cut out the openings later.
IMPORTANT Use old headliner (14) as template.
IMPORTANT Prevent headliner fabric cover (14) from fraying (e.g. by gluing).
 
26 Install in the reverse order
