Maximum boost pressure
The compressor is permanently driven by the crankshaft via a poly-V-belt. The charge pressure is controlled by the recirculated air flap actuator which is located at the intake/recirculated air opening of the supercharger. If the recirculated air flap is closed, full boost pressure is available to the engine. The recirculated air flap is always closed at full load.
Controlled boost pressure
If the recirculated air flap is open, the boost pressure air is guided back via the recirculated air line to the supercharger. The recirculated air flap can be adjusted variably from 0 to 90° and can thus regulate the boost pressure via the air recirculation line.
