Function sequence for left/right outside mirror glass adjustment, general
The mirror glass adjustment of the left/right outside mirror comprises the following subfunctions: These are:
- Adjust mirror glass
- Store mirror glass position
- Actuating mirror glass position
Function requirements for adjusting mirror glass
- C. 15 R ON Or drive door open
- No overvoltage/undervoltage
- No outside mirror glass position storage presently activated
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The left outside mirror and right outside mirror can be adjusted manually via the light switch module.
The corresponding outside mirror is selected via the left mirror adjustment switch or right mirror adjustment switch. The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.
Each actuation of the left mirror adjustment switch, right mirror adjustment switch and the outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch is read in voltage-coded by the front SAM.
The adjustment request for the left outside mirror is read in by the left front door control via the interior CAN. The adjustment request for the right outside mirror is read in by the left front door control via the interior CAN.
The left front door control unit actuates the:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/1m1)
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/1m2)
The right front door control unit actuates the:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/2m1)
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/2m2)
Store mirror glass position function sequence
The manually adjusted position of the mirror glasses can be stored via the memory location switch.
It is possible to store the following for each transmitter key (A8/1):
- manually three outside mirror glass positions and
- automatically the current mirror positions
After the corresponding outside mirrors are adjusted, the positions are stored when the following buttons are actuated:
- First press memory switch for t > 100 ms and release again.
- Press memory location switch for t > 40 ms within t < 3 s.
The memory switch as the memory location switch are designed as buttons.
The signal of the memory switch and the memory location switch are read voltage-coded by the left front door control unit and transmitted to the front seat adjustment control unit via the interior CAN. The front seat adjustment control unit transmits the storage request to the front control units via the interior CAN The front door control units store the mirror positions under the corresponding memory block numbers.
Additional function requirements for actuating mirror positions
- Manual seat, outside mirror and steering column adjustment activated
- Position measurement supplies valid readings
- EIS control unit transmits valid storage block number
Function sequence for actuation mirror positions
The stored position of the left outside mirror and right outside mirror is called and actuated by pressing and hold the corresponding position buttons on the storage location switch. The steering column position is actuated simultaneously.
The signal of the memory switch and the memory location switch are read by the left front door control unit and transmitted to the front seat adjustment control unit via the interior CAN.
The front seat adjustment control unit transmits the actuation request of the stored mirror position to the front door control units via the interior CAN. The front door control units actuates the mirror adjustment motors according the transmitted memory block number.
The last position of the steering column and the outside mirror are stored in relation to the key.
Function sequence for position sensing and blockage detection
The positions of the left outside mirror and right outside mirrors are sensed by potentiometers located on the mirror adjustment motors. A blockage detection is carried out with the help of the position detection. After blockage detection (voltage values on potentiometer do not change) adjustment is terminated. Blockage detection is performed only with programmed adjustment.
