Function
Synchronization links the counter status of the position counter in the overhead control panel control module (N70) with the actual position of the sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12)Synchronization is required when the overhead control panel control module (N70) has been disconnected from the power supply (e.g. by disconnecting the battery, removing, installing the control module) or when desynchronization was accomplished for other reasons.
When the sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) is desynchronized, it is not possible for the overhead control panel control module (N70) to know the position of the roof, thus, actuation is only then possible to a limited extent.
Performing synchronization
Open pop-up roof with SR switch (N70s1) until the mechanical stop is reached and continue to actuate SR switch (N70s1). The overhead control panel control module (N70) continues to actuate the SR motor (M12m1) and sets the position counter to zero when it recognizes the SR motor (M12m1) has been locked for min. 0.5 s.
The sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) is now in the synchronized state, i.e. the overhead control panel control module (N70) can switch off the motor before the mechanical stop is reached during automatic opening and closing.
Resynchronization
When the sliding/pop-up roof (SR) (M12) is moved to the pop-up lock-up position in the pop-up direction and the SR switch (N70s1) continues to be actuated, synchronization is accomplished after 0.5 s (prerequisite: interior illumination not switched).
