Remove/install center console - AR68.20-P-2000V

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install    
1 Detach cover (4) from center console (4) and lay toward front with lines connected   AR68.20-P-2350V 
2 Unscrew bolts (5) and remove cover (6)    
3 Release hand brake lever (7) IMPORTANT See Operating Instructions  
4 Open cover (3) for stowage box in rear IMPORTANT See Operating Instructions  
5.1 Remove cover (3) for stowage box in rear Only when replacing center console (1). AR68.20-P-5701VB 
6 Unscrew bolts (8) and remove cover (9) IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (810) lay sound system cover (9) down to side with electrical lines connected.  
7 Unscrew nut (10), remove stowage compartment (11) and lay down toward rear IMPORTANT Do not disconnect electrical connectors.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Before tightening nuts (10) close cover (3) and align stowage compartment (11).
 
8 Open cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1) IMPORTANT See Operating Instructions  
9.1 Remove cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1) Only when replacing center console (1).  
    On vehicles with code (359) TELE AID emergency call system, lowcost or without code (386) Preinstallation for portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system or without code (387) Preinstallation for portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system USA/ Canada
or without code (388) portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system
or without code (498) Japanese version

    On vehicles with code (359) TELE AID emergency call system, lowcost or with code (386) Preinstallation for portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system

IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check cover (2) for proper function, if necessary loosen bolts (20) on mount (19) and align cover (2) along mount (19, arrow) with mounting wedge.

10 Unclip cover (12) with suitable screwdriver and unscrew nut (13)    
11 Unclip cover (14) with suitable screwdriver and disconnect all electrical connectors (15) located behind IMPORTANT Number of electrical connectors (15) depends on equipment  
12.1 Disconnect electrical connector (16) from stowage compartment illumination between seat backrests (E13/3) Only on vehicles with code (876) Interior compartment light package  
13.1 Disconnect electrical connector (17) from Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) Only on vehicles with code (386)
Preinstallation for portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system
or with code (388) Portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system
 
14 Close cover (2) for stowage box in center console (1) IMPORTANT See Operating Instructions  
15 Loosen nut (18) until center console (1) can be removed together with bracket (19)    
16 Loosen center console (1) at front from retaining lugs (22) for instrument panel and remove from vehicle toward rear IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that wiring harness are routed correctly below center console (1).  
17.1 Unscrew bolts (20) and remove bracket (19) from center console (1) Only when replacing center console (1).  
18.1 Unscrew bolts (23) and remove Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) from cover (14) Only when replacing center console (1) and on vehicles with code (386) Preinstallation for portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system or with code (388) Portable CTEL telephone, UPCI system  
19.1 Open cover (24), unclip center stowage CL motor (M14/19) from center console (1), detach from spring (25) and expose wiring harness (26). Only when replacing center console (1).  
20.1 Unclip ATA center stowage switch (S62/8) from center console (1) and expose wiring harness (27) Only when replacing center console (1) and on vehicles with code (882b) Interior monitoring (only with ATA)  
21 Install in the reverse order
