Interior lights (IL [IBL]) function - GF82.20-P-0002R: Notes

MODEL 230 

The principal lights of the interior lighting are listed to provide a clear overview: 

• Dome lamp (N70e1)
• Inside rearview mirror unit (A67) with:
  • Left reading lamp (A67e1)
  • Right reading lamp (A67e2)
  • Surround lamp (A67e3)
• Left door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3)
• Right door entrance/exit lamp (E17/4)
• Left door interior handle illumination (E17/11)
• Right door interior handle illumination (E17/12)
• Trunk lamp (E18/1)
• Glove compartment illumination with switch (E13/2)

Certain of the lights of the interior lighting can be combined in the subgroup switch and controls illumination  .

The lights of the switch and controls illumination are all dependent on the status of circuit 58.

In addition to the switch lighting the following lights are also part of the switch and controls illumination: 

• Right footwell lamp (E17/15)
• Left footwell lamp (E17/16)
• Ashtray illumination (E9/7)
• Glove compartment lock illumination (E13/7)
• Armrest stowage compartment lighting (E36)
• Cigar lighter illumination (R3e1)

The lights are operated by different control modules. The overhead control panel control module (N70)  in this case performs the master function  .

The intensity of the switch and controls illumination is dependent on the setting of the dimmer (A1r1) of the instrument cluster (A1) circuit 58d.
