Exterior light-dependent control of the interior lights, function - GF82.20-P-3003R

All the CAN messages relate to the interior CAN. The individual CAN arrows are intended only to illustrate the data flow. The CAN databus in question is always, of course, the same one!

Certain functions of the interior and exterior lights can be controlled in line with the intensity of the ambient light. The "headlamp light control" must be set to automatic in the instrument cluster (A1) for this purpose.

Three functions can be distinguished for the interior lights:

Intensity-dependent light function for dome lamp
Intensity-dependent light function for switch and controls illumination (circuit 58d)
Light function for entry/exit lamps (always dependent on intensity)

Requirements:

Door contact ON and OFF switch (N70s3) is in position ON,
(only for switch and controls illumination and dome lamp) the "headlamp light control" is set to automatic in the instrument cluster (A1). The instrument cluster (A1) then generates the CAN message "automatic headlamp function on " (1).

Intensity-dependent light function for dome lamp

The overhead control panel control module receives the CAN message "automatic headlamp function on " (1) and
the intensity signal (2) from the lights on sensor (B32/1).
If the overhead control panel control module (N70) interprets the intensity signal (3) as "night" , the dome lamps are then switched on if a request is received, e.g. by a door being opened, from the overhead control panel.

Intensity-dependent light function for switch and controls illumination

The overhead control panel control module (N70) receives the CAN message "automatic headlamp function on " (1) and
the intensity signal (2) from the daylight sensor for automatic lights on (B32/1).
If the overhead control panel control module (N70) interprets the intensity signal (3) as "night" , it then switches the CAN message "automatic headlamp control on/off" (3 ) to ON .
The driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) receives this message and generates the CAN message "switch side lamps on" (4) .
The instrument cluster (A1) receives this message and activates the CAN message circuit 58d.
The control modules to which lamps of the switch and controls illumination are connected, receive the CAN message circuit 58d and actuate the lamps.

In the case of circuit 58d, this is a pulse width modulated signal, the on/off ratio of which can be set between 12 % and 100 % by means of the instrument lighting dimmer and reset button (A1r1) as soon as the CAN message "switch side lamps on" (4) is active.

If a fault exists at the lights on sensor (B32/1), the switch and controls illumination behaves as if "night" were detected.

Light function for entry/exit lamps

If the overhead control panel control module interprets the intensity signal (3) as "night" , it then transmits the CAN message "switch exit lamps on/off" over the interior CAN.
The door control modules (N69/1, N69/2) receive this signal and actuate the corresponding entry/exit lamp when a door is opened.

If a fault exists, the entry/exit lamps behave as if "night" were detected.

If an undervoltage or overvoltage exists, the exit lamps always remain switched off.

Altering the intensity or the door contact ON and OFF switch (N70s3) during an intensity-dependent light function

If the intensity information or the position of the door contact ON and OFF switch (N70s3) changes, this is immediately taken into account.
