Remove/install xenon bulb ignition module - AR82.10-P-4633R

MODEL 230.4 up to 28.1.08 except CODE (809) Model year 2009

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage levels present at xenon headlamps.
Risk of explosion/fire hazard  through highly flammable material in the area of damaged xenon bulbs.
Risk of injury  through UV light, hot components on xenon headlamps and glass splinters when xenon bulbs burst
Risk of poisoning  through inhalation of mercury vapor and swallowing of or skin contact with toxic salts and mercury compounds.
Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants  (e.g. heart pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off complete lighting system. Wear insulating safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Ensure that the workplace is sufficiently ventilated. AS82.10-Z-0001-01A
1 Switch off the ignition and remove the transmitter key from the EIS control unit IMPORTANT On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, press Keyless Go start/stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off.
Remove Keyless Go transmitter card or transmitter key from vehicle and store beyond reach of transmitter (min. 2 m).
 
2.1 Remove left front engine compartment paneling When removing xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2) of left front lamp unit (E1) on vehicles without code (487) Active Body Control (ABC). AR61.20-P-1105R
2.2 Remove left front lamp unit (E1) When removing xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2) of left front lamp unit (E1) on vehicles with code (487) Active Body Control (ABC). AR82.10-P-4730R 
3.1 Remove right front engine compartment paneling When removing xenon headlamp ignition module (E2n2) of right front lamp unit (E2). AR61.20-P-1105R
3.2 Remove right front lamp unit (E2) When removing xenon headlamp ignition module (E2n2) of right front lamp unit (E2) on vehicles with code (228) Stationary heater. AR82.10-P-4730R 
4 Detach housing cover (1) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check gasket of housing cover (1) for damage, replace if necessary.  
5 Unclip cable tie with foot part (2)    
6 Disconnect electrical connector (3) IMPORTANT The electrical connector (3) is designed as a bayonet lock and is turned by 45° and removed  
7 Detach housing cover (4) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check gasket of housing cover (4) for damage, replace if necessary.  
8 Remove xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2 or E2n2)    
9 Remove covering (5) from xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2 or E2n2)    
10 Disconnect electrical connector (6)    
11 Guide xenon headlamp ignition module connector (3) with wiring harness through routed free of tension and chafing. housing of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure wiring harness is routed free of tension and chafing.  
12 Remove xenon headlamp ignition module (E1n2 or E2n2)    
13 Install in the reverse order
