8	Position piston of cylinder a 1 to 30° crank angle after ignition TDC	Rotate engine at crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until marking for a 30° crank angle on the belt pulley/vibration damper (12) coincides with marking on the timing case cover (arrow). Marking (A) of camshaft bearing cap (4) must be aligned with marking (B) on camshaft (5). The engine must not be turned back, otherwise timing chain can skip and this can result in engine damage.

10	Remove circlip (6) of left camshaft sprocket (7) and remove centrifuge (8)
11	Remove camshaft sprockets (7)	Marl camshaft sprocket and timing chain relative to each other. Turn camshafts (5) in such a way that holding devices (3) can be mounted free of tension on the cylinder heads.
