REMOVING Removal     
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery

2.1 Remove radio

2.2 Remove/install operating, display and control module with COMAND (code 352a) operating and display system

3 Remove rear passenger compartment floor covering

4.1 Open right wiring duct    
4.2 Open left wiring duct with sound system (code 810)  
5 Remove rear backrest

REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   with single seats (code 401). AR91.12-P-1620M
6.1 Remove seat adjustment device with single seats (code 401).  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR91.10-P-1450M
7 Remove coverings in trunk    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR68.30-P-4600M
8 Remove rear wall in trunk    
9 Remove/install SAM with fuse and relay box, left front IMPORTANT Do not remove completely, only do so far enough to enable an additional cable to be pulled through from driver's footwell and connected to fuse and relay box.

10 Remove molding on rear window

INSTALLING Install     
11 Install optical waveguide module

12.1 Retrofit fiber optic wiring harness except code 810, code 819. AN82.70-P-0002-01MA 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Cover optical waveguide NOTESDo not kink or stretch D2B fiber optic.  AR82.95-P-0005-01A
    IMPORTANT Install covers on fiber-optic coupling and equipment connector.  
12.2 Retrofit fiber optic wiring harness with code 810, code 819. AN82.70-P-0002-01MB 
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Cover optical waveguide NOTESDo not kink or stretch D2B fiber optic.  AR82.95-P-0005-01A
    IMPORTANT Install covers on fiber-optic coupling and equipment connector.  
13 Retrofit telephone cable harness IMPORTANT Voltage supply wiring harness AN82.70-P-0002-03MB 
14 Retrofit interface   AZ82.70-P-0001-07IB

16 Retrofit CTEL/GPS antenna   AZ82.70-P-0001-08IA

19 Installation proceeds in reverse order IMPORTANT Steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10  
20 Perform startup and function check IMPORTANT Carry out control unit coding (CTEL) using STAR diagnosis  
21.1 when scope of equipment changes reenter code or designation of corresponding special equipment on vehicle card
