If the front seats have been normalized, then in the

• front seat adjustment control module with memory and driver-side easy entry (N32/1) the position of the driver seat and in the
• front seat adjustment control module with memory and front passenger easy entry (N32/2) the position of the front passenger seat

are stored. If a denormalization has taken place then the seats have to be normalized.

Denormalization occurs when:

• the front seat adjustment control module with memory and driver-side easy entry (N32/1) and/or the front seat adjustment control module with memory and front passenger easy entry (N32/2) has been disconnected from the voltage supply or
• the distance of the recognized front and rear end position is less than approx. 90 % of the maximum range of adjustment (minimum distance).

Normalization shown using driver seat as example 

A manual adjustment request over the left door seat adjustment switch group (memory) (S91/2) moves to all mechanical limit stops (does not apply to rear stop of backrest adjustment). When the limit stop is reached the respective switch of the left door seat adjustment switch group (memory) (S91/2) is held pressed for another 0.3 s. The position measurement is used to define each respective blocking position as an end position and to store it in the front seat adjustment control module with memory and driver-side easy entry (N32/1). The driver seat is now in a normalized state.

Normalization of the front passenger seat is analog to the normalization process for the driver seat. The adjustment request ensues via the right door seat adjustment switch group (memory) (S92/2), the position is stored in the front seat adjustment control module with memory and front passenger easy entry (N32/2).
