MODEL 209 Offline programming with Special Release CD

	An adequate power supply to the vehicle onboard electrical system is to be ensured as damage to the control units may arise if undervoltage occurs

1	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS, start Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS) and select category/vehicle model	Communication with control unit is established.
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2	Determine the part number of the control unit with the aid of the current parts catalog	Only required if data cannot be read out of the control unit.
3	Contact STAR DIAGNOSIS User Help Desk	If the control unit does not communicate with the DAS or the problem cannot be eliminated with the monthly Release CD or DAS-DVD. Have ready the event log of the initial quick test, the control unit version and if necessary the documentation for the repair order.
4	Fax log of initial quick test, control unit version and if necessary documentation on the repair order to the STAR DIAGNOSIS User Help Desk	This information is needed for problem solving. From this information the Special Release CD is prepared at LC/MPC GLC Germersheim. STAR DIAGNOSIS User Help Desk reports to the workshop and gives the replacement part number, incl. "ES 2", of the Special Release CD.
5	Order the Special Release CD via the usual ordering channels	"ES 2" is also to be specified next to the part number when ordering. Preparation and shipment of Special Release CD at LC/MPC GLC Germersheim. LC/MPC GLC Germersheim sends the Special Release CD via the usual sales/marketing channel.
6	Program the control unit after receipt of the Special Release CD		AR54.21-P-0014-01Z
7	Carry out redocumentation in the vehicle documentation system (FDOK/VeDok) in the FDOK/VeDok screen	Only after successfully programming the control unit. If no FDOK/VeDok access is available, send fax or email to LC/MPC GLC Germersheim, to get redocumentation carried out there.
8	Perform SCN coding of control units	Only when required, refer to DAS.	AR54.21-P-0015X
9	Run teach-in procedures	Only when required, refer to DAS.
10	Read out fault memory, erase if necessary
11	Disconnect STAR DIAGNOSIS
