Steering column module, task - GF54.21-P-4104-02QA

The steering column module (N80) has the following operations:

The steering column module (N80) is connected to the interior CAN and engine compartment CAN, however is not used as an interface (gateway) between the two bus systems.

All the button operations on the multifunction steering wheel as well as switch operations are read in by the steering column module (N80) and placed on the corresponding CAN.

The direction of travel movements are detected by the steering angle sensor (N49) and placed on the engine compartment CAN via the steering column module (N80). These signals are thus available to the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Distronic (DTR).
