Fuel level gauge

In the fuel tank is located a fuel level sensor, left half of tank (B4/1) and a fuel level sensor, right half of tank (B4/2). The resistance which depends on the level of the fuel is in the range of 50 Ω (fuel tank full) to 1000 Ω (fuel tank empty).

The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) measures the resistance values (every 100 ms the fuel level sensor, left half of tank (B4/1) and fuel level sensor, right half of tank (B4/2) is read in alternately) and determines the corresponding fill level by means of a table stored in the read-only memory (ROM).

This fill level is now placed on the CAN class B.
