	Adjustment in longitudinal and vertical directions
1	Open engine hood (1)		AR88.40-P-1000G
2	Adjust bolts (4) on engine hood hinge (5) and engine hood (1)	For slight longitudinal and height adjustment For larger range of adjustment, see step 4 - 10
3	Tighten bolts (4)		*BA88.40-P-1001-01A
4	Position engine hood upright (1)		AR88.40-P-1000G
5	Remove gas-operated strut (1) from top of engine hood (2) and lay down in engine compartment
6	Close engine hood (1)		AR88.40-P-1000G
7	Remove fender liner in front fender		AR88.10-P-1300G
8	Loosen bolts (6) from engine hood hinge (5) in front fender
9	Adjust the engine hood (1) so that the leading edges of the front fenders are flush with the engine hood and the top edges are in alignment	If a larger range of adjustment is needed, loosen engine hood catch upper section, adjust and tighten

10	Tighten bolts (6) on engine hood hinge (5)		*BA88.40-P-1005-01A
11	Adjust the height of the stop buffer (4) so that the top edges of the front fenders and engine hood (1) are flush	If required, shim engine hood catch upper section; if necessary ↓ position radiator crossmember (10) higher/lower on strut (10)
12	Install gas-operated strut
	Adjustment in transverse direction
13	Loosen bolts (2) on engine hood catch upper section (3)
14	Adjust left and right gaps		Figure
		Gap dimensions at hoods, doors and covers	AR60.00-P-0700-01G
15	Align engine hood catch upper section (3) centrally with lower section of engine hood catch in longitudinal and transverse directions and retighten		*BA88.40-P-1004-01A
16	Install fender liner in front fender		AR88.10-P-1300G
17	Check safety hook for proper function	For this purpose, close engine hood, unlock and check arrest on radiator crossmember.
18	Close engine hood (1)		AR88.40-P-1000G
19	Check engine hood catch and safety hook for proper function
