Removing and installing engine hood - AR88.40-P-3000G

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removal, installation     
IMPORTANT Sealing joints following repairs IMPORTANT Includes sealing joints on engine hood AR97.10-P-4000G
IMPORTANT Hollow cavity preservation following repair IMPORTANT Includes hollow cavity preservation on engine hood AR97.20-P-1500G
1 Open engine hood (1) and move to upright position   AR88.40-P-1000G 
2 Unscrew bottom four bolts (4) in engine hood (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA88.40-P-1001-01A 
    IMPORTANT The engine hood is held in place by the safety hooks on the engine hood hinges (5)
IMPORTANTInstallation  : Move bolts to coincide with pressure points in paint Ensure that engine hood fits correctly, if necessary ↓
 
    Adjust engine hood AR88.40-P-3020G 
3 Unclip retainer (2) and unhook gas pressure strut (3) from engine hood (1) at top    
4 Unscrew the two top bolts (4) in engine hood (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION
NOTES Have second person secure engine hood
*BA88.40-P-1001-01A 
    IMPORTANTInstallation  : Move bolts to coincide with impressions in paint  
5 Remove engine hood (1) with help of second person and set down on suitable surface NOTES Avoid damaging paintwork
IMPORTANTInstallation  : Position engine hood in safety hooks on engine hood hinges (5)
 
6 Reinstall in opposite order
