| 6 | Unhook backrest cover (1) from lugs (4) all the way around | ||
| 7 | Pull backrest cover (1) out of clip groove (5) on backrest frame (6) downward (see arrows) | ||
| 8 | Disconnect heated seat voltage supply connector, 2-pin (X54/9) | ||
| 9 | Remove cable strap (7) and loosen electrical connector (8) | ||
| 10 | Remove backrest cover (1) from backrest frame (6) upward together with rubberized fiber matting (10) | ||
| 11 | Loosen upholstery clips (9) | ||
| 12 | Pull backrest cover (1) off of rubberized fiber matting (10) and remove | ||

| 13 | Pull backrest cover (1) over the "head" of the rubberized fiber matting (10) at top | ||
| 14 | Fold back backrest cover (1) at side and position on rubberized fiber matting (10) and align | ||
| 15 | Insert clip grooves (9) into rubberized fiber matting (10) and align | ||
| 16 | Connect longitudinal upholstery wires (11) with upholstery clips (9) | ||

| 17 | Align backrest cover (1) on rubberized fiber matting | ||
| 18 | Slide backrest cover (1) on to backrest frame (6) with rubberized fiber matting (10) | ||
| 19 | Slide backrest cover (1) into clip groove (5) on bottom of backrest frame (6) | ||
| 20 | Hook backrest cover (1) into lugs (4) on backrest frame (6) all the way around | ||
| 21 | Clip covers (12) into backrest guide | ||
