Function prerequisites:
Controlled heater operation terminated or interrupted due to a malfunction. After the fuel metering pump (Y23) has been switched off by the heater terminating the combustion the shut-off delay starts.
Shut-off delay function
The shut-off delay serves for cooling down the heater and purging the combustion chamber. It runs for approx. 120 s:
- The circulating pump (A6m1), combustion air blower (A6m2) and vehicle heater blower continue to run audibly. The air flowing out of the stationary heater exhaust outlet cools down slowly.
- After approx. 120 s the heater switches off the circulating pump (A6m1), combustion air blower (A6m2) and vehicle heater blower. The shut-off delay is completed.
