Remove/install module housing - AR54.20-P-2360P

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses.
Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

1 Disconnect battery ground cable   AR54.10-P-0003P 
NOTES Notes on battery All models AH54.10-P-0001-01A
2.1 Remove CDI control unit (N3/9) Engine 611 AR07.08-P-7008P
2.2 Remove ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) Engine 111, 112 AR07.08-P-7008P
3 Remove front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)   AR54.21-P-1260P 
4 Remove cover below instrument panel (left)   AR68.10-P-1500P
5 Remove bottom section of dashboard on driver's side   AR68.10-P-1505P
6 Remove accelerator pedal   AR30.12-P-1321P
7 Remove left front floor covering   AR68.20-P-2050P
8 Detach electrical cables to accelerator pedal from vehicle floor    
9 Pull back cables to accelerator pedal to module box (9)    
10 Remove foam damper (6) IMPORTANT Note and mark installed position.  
11 Remove stop lamp switch (S9/1) IMPORTANT Unlock and twist counterclockwise. AR42.10-P-0040P
12 Remove brake pedal cover (3)    
13 Remove foot-operated parking brake cover (4)    
14 Unplug connectors from parking brake switch (S12)    
15 Remove bearing bracket cover (5)    
16 Unclip and remove left rear inside door sill molding    
17 Remove side upholstery of left rear seat backrest   AR91.12-P-1710P
18.1 Remove coverings in trunk Model 203.0
IMPORTANT Side paneling on driver's side only.

18.2 Remove rear passenger compartment side trim panel Model 203.2
IMPORTANT Only driver side.

19 Remove cargo area floor cover. Model 203.2 AR68.20-P-4810PB
20 Disconnect connectors (8)    
21 Detach cables to lateral acceleration sensor (B24/2) and ESP yaw rate sensor (N64) from vehicle floor    
22 Pull back cables to lateral acceleration sensor (B24/2) and ESP yaw rate sensor (N64) to module box (9)    
23 Unplug electrical connectors in left front inner door sill IMPORTANT Note and mark installed position.  
24 Unplug electrical connectors in left rear inner door sill IMPORTANT Note and mark installed position.  
25 Detach cables from vehicle floor    
26 Pull back cables to module box (9)    
27 Disconnect plug connectors (7) for pneumatic headlamp range adjustment in left front inner door sill IMPORTANT Note and mark installed position.  
28 Detach pneumatic lines from vehicle floor    
29 Pull back pneumatic lines to module box (9)    
30 Remove detachable cable ducts from module box (9) IMPORTANT Note and mark installed position.  
31 Unscrew nut from ground (left front inner door sill) (W28/1)    
32 Remove electrical cables    
33 Pull back remaining cable harnesses to module box (9)    
34 Unscrew bolts (2) and remove module box (9) NOTESInstallation:  Check gasket, replace if damaged.  
35 Install in the reverse order    
36 Render electrical system operational See: ↓
Perform basic programming.
