MODIFICATION NOTES

12.4.05 Stage basic data in STAR DIAGNOSIS, added and disconnect battery ground line, taken away Steps 1 to 9  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
1.1 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and stage basic data from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) in STAR DIAGNOSIS Only when installing new the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Transfer staged basic data to new rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
    STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system *WH58.30-Z-1048-13A 
2 Unlock and remove left stowage compartment IMPORTANT Press lock for left stowage compartment (1)  
3 Unscrew screw (2)    
4 Pry off and move bracket (3) from rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) IMPORTANT Move bracket (3) until rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is freely accessible.  
5 Unlock and remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) NOTES Carefully tilt rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) through 90 ° towards the spare wheel well otherwise the retaining lugs (arrows) may be damaged.  
6 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (4). IMPORTANT The electrical connector (4) leading circuit 30 must be disconnected first and contacted last. Unlock and separate electrical connectors (4), see: ↓  
    Disconnecting cables from control units and fuse and relay boxes AR54.18-P-1261-01P 
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  Lock and contact electrical connectors (4), see: ↓  
    Connecting cables to control units and fuse and relay boxes AR54.18-P-1261-02P 
7 Remove rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)    
8.1 Check fuse and relay assignment at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) Only when installing new the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Fuse assignment of rear fuse and relay box   GF54.15-P-1256-01P
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Relay assignment of rear fuse and relay box   GF54.15-P-1257-01P
9 Install in the reverse order
