	Removing, installing
	Risk of explosion  from electrolytic gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  with caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries	No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear acid-proof gloves, clothes and goggles. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.	AS54.10-Z-0001-01A
1	Remove battery	Do not connect quiescent current retention unit.	AR54.10-P-0005P

2	Remove wiper system		AR82.30-P-6400P
3	Unscrew bolts (6)
4	Remove battery bearing bracket (7)
5	Open cable duct (8)	Cable duct under battery bearing bracket.
6	Open cable duct (9)
7	Unscrew nut	Electronics ground, component compartment, right (W16/6).
8	Unplug connector (10)	Connector on coolant circulation pump (M13).
9	Open all cable straps
10	Expose wiring harness	As far as front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
11	Remove absorber (5)
12	Remove door sill molding (11)
13	Pull off edge guard (12)	Near A-pillar trim cover.
14	Unscrew bolt (13)	Unclip cap on A-pillar trim cover (14).
15	Unclip A-pillar trim cover (14)
16	Open cable duct in kick panel
17	Unplug connectors (2, 3)
18	Expose wiring harness	Pull branch-off lines through the cable duct under the absorber (5) to the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
19	Remove gasket (4)
20	Unplug connector (1)	Socket M15 in front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
21	Open cable duct (15)
22.1	Remove lower engine compartment covering	Engines 111, 112 Front paneling.	AR61.20-P-1105P
22.2	Remove lower sections of noise encapsulation	Engines 611, 612 Front lower section.	AR94.30-P-5300P
23	Unplug connector (17)	Connector on refrigerant pressure and temperature sensor (B12/2).
24	Open all cable straps
25	Expose wiring harness	As far as front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
26	Remove air conditioning wiring harness
27	Install in the reverse order	When replacing the convenience automatic air conditioning wiring harness ↓ The convenience automatic air conditioning wiring harness is supplied with branch-off lines for the headlamp cleaning system. These branch-off lines are not routed to the relevant components. They must be insulated and tied back.
