Turn the steering knuckle (5) outwards at the front and then pull outwards, in the process move the front axle shaft (60a or 60b) out of the front axle shaft flange |
Do not damage the rubber boots of the front axle shaft (60a or 60b) and of the supporting joint (7). |

If necessary to loosen the front axle shaft (60a or 60b) screw in the hexagon-collar bolt (61a) a few threads again and hammer out the front axle shaft slightly with a rubber hammer. |

Press out and remove right front axle shaft (60a) |
Do not damage the rubber boots and rpm sensor rotor. To avoid damaging the wheel bearings, the vehicle must not be moved on its wheels with the front axle shaft (60a) removed. |

Chain
When moving the front axle shaft in and out, ensure that the sealing ring is not damaged by the splines and the circlip. |

Press out and remove left front axle shaft (60b) |
Do not damage the plastic guard ring (60m), rubber boots and rpm sensor rotor. To avoid damage to the wheel bearings the vehicle must no longer be moved on its wheels when the front axle shaft (60b) is removed. |

Check joints and boots for leaks and damage |
If damage is present, install new front axle shaft (60a or 60b). |

Check sealing ring in the front axle gear of the right-hand front axle shaft (60a) for damage |
In the event of damage the sealing ring must be replaced. see: ↓ |

Install new radial sealing ring on outside right of front axle gear |
