Remove/install instrument panel bottom section on driver's side - AR68.10-P-1505P

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install    
1 Remove center console (4)   AR68.20-P-2000P 
2 Remove center console cover (3)   AR68.20-P-2350P 
3.1 Remove radio with Audio 30 RDS MB radio code 750, with MB Audio 10 RDS MB radio code 753, with Audio 10 CD MB radio with VK/RDS code 756 AR82.60-P-7502P
    As of 24.4.04 with Audio 20 MB radio code 523 AR82.60-P-7502PA
    IMPORTANT Also remove stowage compartment.  
3.2 Remove radio and APS navigation control panel Audio 30 APS with Code 353 AR82.61-P-7412P
    As of 24.4.04 with Audio 50 APS MB radio Code 525 AR82.61-P-7412PA
3.3 Remove operating and display unit with control unit Up to 23.4.04 with COMAND operating and display system, code 352 AR82.85-P-7472P
    As of 24.4.04 with COMAND APS (with navigation) code 527, with HIGH Class Japan code 529, with COMAND APS USA (with navigation) code 530 AR82.85-P-7472PA
4 Remove cover below instrument panel on left (5)   AR68.10-P-1500P 
5 Remove light switch module (S1)   AR54.25-P-3270P
6 Unscrew bolts (6)    
7 Unclip driver-side instrument panel bottom section (7) with mounting wedge SPECIAL TOOL Mounting wedge Figure
8 Remove driver-side instrument panel bottom section (7) IMPORTANT Remove driver-side instrument panel bottom section (7) until actuation lever for foot-operated brake and EIS control unit (N73) are accessible.  
9 Unscrew lock cover plate from EIS control unit (N73) SPECIAL TOOL Claw-type wrench for ignition/starter switch Fig 3
10 Remove EIS control unit (N73) from driver-side instrument panel bottom section (7)    
11 Unhook release cable for foot-operated parking brake from operating lever    
12 Remove driver-side instrument panel bottom section (7)    
13 Install in the reverse order
