IMPORTANTModel 220.025 only 

Check the fan motor's part number. It can be found on the upper left of the fan shroud (3) (see magnified view).

Fan motors with the part number A 220 500 01 93 are rated at 650 watts.

Fan motors with the part number A 220 500 02 93 are rated at 850 watts.

If a shroud with the 650 fan motor is currently installed, it will have to be replaced with the installation of an 850 fan motor. If an 850 watt fan motor is already installed, no additional modifications will be required.

IMPORTANT Failure to retrofit this component will render the warranty/goodwill warranty invalid.

2 Remove battery

4.1 Remove CD changer

5 Remove plastic cover in left rain trough on rear fender    
6 Remove rear seat backrest

7 Fold back insulation mat behind right rear seat    
8 Remove control unit holder below right rear seat

12 Remove screens at left and right above the rear muffler    
13.1 Remove engine mounts IMPORTANT Models 220.063 /065 /067 /087 / 165 /167 /187 only.
IMPORTANT Replace both front engine mounts with the new mounts supplied as part of the package contents.

14.1 Remove fan shroud IMPORTANT Applies only to Model 220.025 with 650 watt electric fan.
Installation:  Replace the factory-installed fan shroud with the 650 watt electric fan by installing a shroud with an 850 watt electric fan in its place.
 
INSTALLING Install     
15.1 Retrofit additional cooler IMPORTANT Applies to vehicles with Engine 613.960 only

16 Retrofit mechanical detachable parts TORQUE SPECIFICATION Do not remove the transport locking element on the swiveling ball neck until the release lever has been installed. AN31.11-P-8080-05M

21 Install in the reverse sequence IMPORTANT Steps 14.1 up to 1.  
INSPECT Check     
22 Perform version coding subsequently    
23 Conduct operational check of swivel-mounted trailer coupling IMPORTANT If the detent on the ball neck fails to engage securely, the LED in the trailer hitch release mechanism (A63) will start to flash (see arrow). The LED stops flashing when the trailer hitch is engaged in one of the end positions or after approx. 8 minutes.  
24 Conduct operation check of the light activation signal at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58) Model 220. AN31.19-P-8100-06MN 
25 Enter special equipment in the vehicle data card and in the vehicle's online data card IMPORTANT Trailer hitch, Code (550).
