Remove/install parking brake pedal assembly - AR42.20-P-0510A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Lethal injuries  are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1.1 Remove heat shield of exhaust system. Models 129, 140  
2 Pre-tension automatic cable slack adjuster Model 140 AR42.20-P-0520-01A
    Models 202, 208, 210 AR42.20-P-0520-01B 
3 Detach return spring (94)    
4 Slacken adjusting screw (89) Model 129  
5 Remove cover below instrument panel Model 129 ra68001290150x
    Model 140 ra68001400150x
    Model 202 AR68.10-P-1500E
    Model 208 AR68.10-P-1500K
    Model 210 AR68.10-P-1500F
6 Remove front left floor covering Model 129

7 Detach brake cable (85) from tensioning shackle at parking brake pedal (75) using snap-release tool (043) IMPORTANT The brake cable (85) can also be removed by breaking the clamping ring (84). To install, insert a new clamping ring (84) in the groove in the brake cable (85).Pay attention to the rubber grommet (85b).

8.1 Unscrew bolts (72) and take off pedal assembly (71) On vehicles with nut welded on at front wall pillar.
IMPORTANT Model 210: The pedal assembly (71) is fixed with two bolts.		  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA42.20-P-1001-01A 
8.2 Unscrew upper bolts (72), loosen lower bolt (72) several turns and detach pedal assembly (71) On vehicles with nut pressed into front wall pillar.
IMPORTANT The pressed in nut can fall into the front wall pillar if the lower bolt (72) is unscrewed.		  
9 Unplug connector at parking brake indicator switch (S12) IMPORTANT Raise pedal assembly (71) slightly to do this.  
10 Detach cable (79) from release lever (77)    
11 Detach cable (7) from pedal assembly (71) using tool (010).    
REFER TO SHOP-MADE TOOLS Tool for releasing parking brake control cable   WF58.50-P-4220-01A
12 Remove pedal assembly (71) NOTES Do not  loosen torx bolts on back of pedal assembly (71) otherwise the pedal assembly (71) will be damaged beyond repair.  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Friction brake of parking brake pedal assembly, function   GF42.20-P-1000A
13 Install in the reverse order    
14.1 Relieve load on automatic slack adjuster. Models 140, 202, 208, 210 AR42.20-P-0520-02A 
INSPECT Inspecting     
15.1 Check version of pedal assembly (71) Model 129  
REFER TO COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS Parking brake pedal assembly modified   BT42.20-P-0510-01A
16.1 Adjust parking brake Model 129 AR42.20-P-0540A
