Retrofitting hands-free system - AN82.71-P-0001A

MODEL 210.0 /2 with CODE (450) Taxi version 

Two-way radios tested by Mercedes-Benz for use with hands-free system:

• AEG Teleca 9
• Bosch KF 168
• Motorola GM 900

Malfunctions can occur in the hands-free system when other types of two-way radios are installed.

	Removal
1	Disconnect ground lead from battery		AR54.10-P-0003A
2	Remove left and right front seats		AR91.10-P-1000F
3	Remove door sill moldings on right front and rear doors
4	Remove cover on A-pillar at bottom right
5	Remove paneling on right A-pillar		AR68.30-P-4050F
6	Remove cover below instrument panel on right		AR68.10-P-1520F
7	Remove B-pillar paneling on bottom right
8	Remove inside rearview mirror		AR68.40-P-0001F
9	Remove overhead control panel	Installation:  Route microphone lead through gap in overhead control panel.	AR82.20-P-0110F
10	Remove sun visors on right and left
11	Remove center console		AR68.20-P-2000F
12	Remove left and right footwell vents
13	Remove rear air duct in right footwell
14	Remove two-way radio
15	Remove radio		AR82.60-P-7502EA
16	Open wiring duct covers in footwell on left and right and on door sill on right front and rear doors
17	Remove paneling in trunk on right
18	Remove rear seat and rear backrest	Model 210.0	AR91.12-P-1700F

	Installation
19	Retrofit microphone wiring harness		AN82.71-P-0001-01A
20	Retrofit frame/floor wiring harness		AN82.71-P-0001-02A
21	Retrofit two-way radio selector switch and microphone		AN82.71-P-0001-03A
22	Reinstall in opposite order	Steps 18 -1.
23	Check for proper function
