Function requirements:

Function overview

Function using power window operating switches

Operation or activation of the power windows using the driver power window switch group (S20/1) cannot be influenced by the PW operating switches on the other control modules.

An activation or an already active function from another switch is terminated if a new request for the same window is received from the driver power window switch group (S20/1).

Movement is reversed if an obstruction is detected. Once a reversal is activated it cannot be interrupted. Once the reversing action has ended, the desired adjustment can be made by again pressing a power window operating switch.

Hierarchical structure of power window control commands

A power window control command with higher priority is carried out if a power window function with lower priority is currently active. This applies only if the function requirements for the higher priority request are satisfied.

A lower priority power window command cannot affect an active power window function of higher priority.

After a higher priority function has ended, any lower priority control command still active will be ignored. The neutral position of the lower priority control command must first be detected before the corresponding function is activated.

Priority 1

When power window control commands are given using the driver side power window switch group (S20/1), the first switch actuation causes the abort of any active lower priority function. The second switch actuation activates the function.

Priority 2

When power window control commands are given using power window operating switches other than the driver power window switch group (S20/1), the first switch actuation causes the abort of any already active function with lower priority. The second switch actuation activates the function.

Here, each switch can only act on its assigned power window motor.

Priority 3

Central closing/opening via IR signal.

Priority 4

Automatic window closing/opening via recirculated air push-button.

IMPORTANT The above function sequences are carried out by the respective door control modules.
