Remove/install electric fan - AR20.40-P-5000AC

ENGINE 113.988 in MODELS 203.076 /276 with TRANSMISSION 722.636

MODIFICATION NOTES

16.5.06 "Disconnect/connect ground line on battery" removed    
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
1 Open engine hood   AR88.40-P-1000P
2 Remove front reinforcement   AR62.30-P-1400AC
3 Remove radiator trim   AR88.40-P-4001AC
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

4 Drain coolant   AR20.00-P-1142PV 
NOTES Notes on coolant All engines AH20.00-N-2080-01A 
5 Disconnect connector (1) at electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7)    
6 Remove upper coolant line IMPORTANT Remove retaining clip for coolant line. Use a screwdriver to push back clip until it locks in place.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace O-ring of coolant line.
 
7 Press clamp (3) on right and left IMPORTANT At the same time take out electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) toward top.  
8 Take out electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) toward top IMPORTANTInstallation:  Ensure that plates (4) for electric suction fan engine and AC with integrated control (M4/7) are seated in the supports (5) of radiator on right and left.  
9 Install in the reverse order    
10 Carry out operational check of hood lock    
11 Inspect gaps of hood IMPORTANT If required, adjust gap dimension. See: ↓

12 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT When the work is complete stored faults must be worked on in the diagnostic trouble code memories and erased.
The stored faults can be caused by removed cables during installation or test operations, as well as by simulation.
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A

CHECK VALUES FOR GAP DIMENSIONS ON HOODS, DOORS AND LIDS
