| 1 | Open engine hood | AR88.40-P-1000M | |
| 2 | Unscrew bolts (2) on engine hood catch (1) and radiator cross member (3) | ||
| 3 | Unclip engine hood cable (4) | ||
| 4 | Unhook engine hood cable (4) from engine hood catch (1) and remove engine hood catch (1) upward | ||
| 5 | Unscrew bolts (5) and remove safety hooks (6) | ||
| Install | |||
| 6 | Insert safety hooks (6) into engine hood and screw in bolts (5) | *BA88.40-P-1005-01D | |
| 7 | Insert engine hood catch (1) into radiator cross member (3) | ||
| 8 | Hook engine hood cable (4) into engine hood catch (1) | ||
| 9 | Clip engine hood cable (4) into radiator cross member (3) | ||
| 10 | Screw in bolts (2) and tighten engine hook catch (1) | *BA88.40-P-1004-01D | |
| 11 | Check whether engine hood catch (1) catches properly by closing engine hood and pulling upward with a jerk. | ||
| 12 | Unlock engine hood and check arrest of safety hook (6) on radiator crossmember (3) | ||
| 13 | Close engine hood | AR88.40-P-1000M | |
| 14 | Check engine hood fit | ||
| Gap dimensions on hoods, doors and lids. If fit is not precise: ↓ | AR60.00-P-0700-01M | ||
| Adjust engine hood | AR88.40-P-3020M |
